Maria Linhares de Sousa, A court authority

Portugal born Maria Linhares de Sousa obtained her LLB at the University of Ottawa. Since then, she has served as Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of the High Court of Justice of the Supreme Court of Ontario, the Honorable Gregory T. Evans, Family Law Commissioner and Official Referee of the Supreme Court of Ontario (appointed by provincial Order-in-Council), Judge of Provincial Court (Criminal Division) and Justice of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, Family Division. She has been a speaker and moderator at numerous Superior Court of Justice and National Judicial Institute education programs and is current chair of the Family Law Information Centre at the Ottawa Court house.
